Description
An abandoned gas station.
This is one of a few photos I recently found taped into a notebook, and was almost certainly taken in 1996. Having passed this gas station on my way back home one day (probably during my senior year in high school), I went back with a camera several days later. Doubtless my interest in falling-down old buildings was motivated by my high-school interest in all things vaguely Gothic ... which may very well have contributed to the fact that I was a literary Romanticist as an undergraduate.
The trip to take these pictures may very well be the first time I used a vehicle expressly for the purpose of getting to a location for a photo-shoot that was motivated purely by my own interest rather than an assignment for the school yearbook.
Taken with 35mm film and digitized in 2010.

Nice photo of the abandoned gas station. It is finally gone now. Was torn down I believe in the past five to eight years. I have lived in Bandon for over sixteen years now.
